Day 15: The Power of Dhikr: Easy Ways to Stay Connected to Allah

Sharing is caring!

Ramadaan is a time of deep reflection, increased worship, and strengthening our connection with Allah (SWT). One of the simplest yet most powerful ways to achieve this is through dhikr (remembrance of Allah). Dhikr is not limited to Ramadaan—it is a daily act of devotion that brings barakah, peace, and immense rewards.

In this post, we’ll explore the power of dhikr, its benefits, and easy ways to incorporate it into your daily routine, especially as a busy mom, entrepreneur, or creative.

🌟 What is Dhikr?

Dhikr means remembering Allah through words of praise, gratitude, and supplication. It can be done anytime, anywhere—whether you’re cooking, driving, working, or taking care of the kids.

Allah (SWT) commands us in the Quran:

“Remember Me, and I will remember you.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:152)

Imagine that—when you remember Allah, He remembers you! That alone should motivate us to engage in dhikr as much as possible.

✨ The Benefits of Dhikr

The beauty of dhikr is that it requires no special time or place, yet the rewards are enormous. Here are some benefits:

1. Dhikr Strengthens Your Relationship with Allah

The more we engage in dhikr, the closer we feel to Allah. It serves as a constant reminder that we rely on Him for everything.

2. It Brings Peace and Removes Anxiety

Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? The best solution is dhikr.

“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:28)

Even in the busiest moments, taking a few seconds to say SubhanAllah or Alhamdulillah can calm your mind and ease your heart.

3. Dhikr Wipes Away Sins

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Whoever says ‘SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi’ 100 times a day, his sins will be forgiven even if they are as much as the foam of the sea.” (Bukhari)

Imagine the amount of sins we can erase just by uttering these simple words daily!

4. It Brings Barakah in Time and Work

As a mom, entrepreneur, or creative, you’re always juggling responsibilities. Dhikr brings barakah into your time, making your work more productive and your efforts more fruitful.

5. Dhikr Will Be a Light on the Day of Judgment

On the Day of Judgment, when we will need our good deeds the most, our dhikr will be a shining light.

📿 Easy Dhikr to Incorporate Into Your Day

You don’t need to set aside extra time for dhikr—you can weave it into your daily routine. Here’s how:

1. Morning and Evening Adhkar

Start and end your day with powerful duas and adhkar. Keep a small dua book or use an Islamic app to remind you.

2. While Cooking or Cleaning

Instead of scrolling through social media while waiting for food to cook, use that time to say:
SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi (100x)
Astaghfirullah (Seeking forgiveness)
Alhamdulillah (Thanking Allah)

3. Before Sleeping

We should recite Ayatul Kursi and Surah Al-Mulk before sleeping. These duas provide protection and blessings.

4. During Work or Study

If you work on a laptop, keep an Islamic desktop wallpaper with a reminder for dhikr.

Say Bismillah before starting work
Whisper La ilaha illallah between tasks
Say Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal wakeel in stressful moments

5. During Daily Errands

Driving? Waiting in line? Use that time wisely by doing dhikr instead of scrolling aimlessly.

✔️ SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi, SubhanAllahil Adheem (Light on the tongue, heavy in reward)
✔️ Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammad (Sending salawat brings immense barakah
