Day 8 – Sunnah Foods to Incorporate in Your Ramadan Diet

Ramadan is not just about fasting—it’s about reviving the Sunnah in every aspect of our lives, including the way we eat! 🌙 The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us the best foods for nourishment, healing, and barakah, and what better time to implement them than in this blessed month?

By incorporating Sunnah foods into our diet, we gain both physical benefits and spiritual rewards. So, let’s take a look at some Sunnah foods that will energise you, aid digestion, and keep you feeling healthy throughout Ramadan!


🌿 1️⃣ Dates – The Ultimate Sunnah Superfood

The Prophet ﷺ broke his fast with fresh dates (or dry ones if fresh were unavailable), and there’s so much wisdom in this!

Instant energy boost – High in natural sugars for a quick pick-me-up
Rich in fibre – Helps digestion and prevents constipation
Packed with minerals – Magnesium, potassium, and iron to keep you strong

💡 Sunnah Tip: Eat an odd number of dates when breaking your fast.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to break his fast with fresh dates before praying. If there were no (fresh dates), then with dry dates. If there were no (dry dates), then he would take a few sips of water. (Tirmidhi)

اللهم بارك لنا فيه وزدنا منه
Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minhu.
O Allah, bless it for us and give us more of it.

“Eat olive oil and apply it, for indeed, it is from a blessed tree.” (Tirmidhi)
